Special Straw makes the Medicine Go Down

A German Company has come up with another way to “make the medicine go down”, I mean other than a “spoonful of sugar”.

The Clarosip straw contains granules of an antibiotic with a neutral tasting coating. The antibiotic is released when the child uses the straw to drink his or her favorite beverage. The straw also has a filter that indicates when the child has ingested the entire dose of the antibiotic.

The coating on the antibiotic granules is designed to dissolve once it reaches the stomach. The straw can be used with many hot or cold drinks but does not work with juices that have pulp.

Maybe this will simplify the chore of getting our kids to take their antibiotics when they are sick. When our kids are sick we have enough to worry about!
