Music in the Development of Infants

Does music make a real difference in the development of infants? Does playing Beethoven, Bach and Vivaldi for your child in utero and as an infant make them smarter?

Well, the jury is still out. Proponents claim that Yes the children exposed to classical music do tend to be smarter and more intelligent than other children. Yet studies have failed to confirm a solid link.

My thoughts are that classical music is beautiful and peaceful. It feels good to listen to classical music (just like it feels good to listen to rock music, country music, jazz music or whatever else you fancy!) But it doesn’t matter if it truly will make my child smarter, I know that it will not hurt my child and both of us can find pleasure in it. Both of us can also find pleasure in listening to Kenny Chesney, Michael Buble’ or the Rolling Stones too!

And of course, all of my children are geniuses!
